Silicon Metal
Silicon metal, also known as metallic silicon or silicon, is a chemical element with the symbol Si and atomic number 14 in the periodic table. It is a semi-metal that often occurs in nature in the form of silicon dioxide (SiO2), but it can be converted into pure silicon metal using various industrial processes. Silicon metal is mainly used in metallurgy as an alloy additive for the production of aluminum alloys and for the manufacture of solar cells in the photovoltaic industry.
